On Tuesday, Boeing and Air India announced a mega deal under which the Tata Group-owned airline will purchase 190 B737 MAX, 20 B787, and 10 B777X for a total of 220 firm orders valued at USD 34 billion at list price.

The A350 family has two versions - the A350-900, and the longer fuselage A350-1000. Airbus says A350s fly efficiently on any sector from short-haul to ultra-long-haul routes up to 17,000 km, carrying 300 to 410 passengers in typical three-class configurations.

In January last year, Tata Group took control of Air India after winning the bid for Rs 18,000 crore. Ever since it acquired the airline, the Tata Group has taken a number of steps to corner a larger share of the aviation sector.

As many as 184 passengers were onboard the Air India Express flight when one of the engines developed a technical snag and caught flame.According to reports, the aircraft landed safely and all passengers are safe.

Amid recent incidents of unruly passenger behaviour, Air India has modified its in-flight alcohol service policy wherein cabin crew have been told to tactfully refuse further serving of alcohol if needed.
