In a handwritten complaint to the airline, Bhattacharjee had earlier said the woman passenger was made to go back to her soiled seat despite four seats in the first class being vacant.

Shankar Mishra, the man who was accused of peeing on a woman co-passenger onboard an Air India flight has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. He was earlier arrested by Delhi Police from Bengaluru after authorities traced his phone.

Air India 'urinating' case: The accused, a top executive at the US financial services firm Wells Fargo before being fired on Friday, has been holed up in Bengaluru since a lookout notice was issued against him.

Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on a woman co-passenger onboard an Air India flight, has been arrested from Bengaluru after absconding for several days. He was brought to New Delhi and will be produced before Delhi’s Patiala House Court, likely before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Nabila Wali, as per sources.

The incident of a first-class passenger of an Air India flight “peeing" on another co-flyer has been making headlines over the past few days. Accused Shankar Mishra served as the vice president of the India chapter of Wells Fargo, which is an American financial services entity, headquartered in California. He has been terminated by the firm.

"The reputation of air travel among various societal groups was tarnished due to airline's inaction, inappropriate response, or omission to deal with such incidents. Laws will be strictly enforced and any violations will be prosecuted," said DGCA.

The Air India CEO said, "Most importantly, if any incident on our aircraft involves such serious misconduct, we must report it to authorities at the earliest opportunity, even if we believe the matter has been settled between the parties involved."

On Thursday, Delhi Police wrote to the concerned authorities seeking a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Shankar Mishra. It is reportedly said that the Delhi Police has sought LOC against Mishra as he is incommunicado and not joining the police investigation.

On Thursday, the Delhi Police sent multiple teams to nab the man, but he was absconding. The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against him based on the complaint given by the victim to Air India.

Air India cabin crew received a complaint from a female passenger that a male co-passenger had soiled her clothes and bags by relieving himself near her seat and requested action against him. However, later she rescinded her request.
