According to the Sahar police, the staff of the flight tackled the accused and he was handed over to the Sahar police where he is detained and booked under various sections of the IPC. The accused is of Indian origin but is a citizen of the United States.

The Civil Aviation Authority has formed a three-member probe committee to investigate the matter. The CAAN has suspended the two officers, who were in charge of the control room at the time of the incident. There was no immediate comment from Air India.
