Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad said that life is more important than employment and that the government should transfer the Kashmiri Pandits to Jammu. Azad's comments came over the concerns about the rise in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and the surge in civilian killings this year.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the wee hours at the Munjh Marg of the Shopian district. The Jammu and Kashmir Police had received information about the presence of Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives in the area.

Earlier in November, New Delhi's Jama Masjid took an unprecedented move to exclude girls from entering. It is reportedly said that the Jama Masjid management issued an order preventing solitary or group of girls from entering the mosque.

"Time and again, the terrorists have struck after issuing such warnings. Still, the government is in a slumber and refuses to consider our request (transfer to Jammu)," Kashmiri Pandits said

It is reportedly said that the IED was kept in a container in the back seat. It was later found by the bomb disposal squad. An investigation is on to find out what is material used in this IED.

"The social set-up, the secular thread and fraternity in democratic Indian background cannot be assumed to be so feeble that it would break or get bruised on random statements of selfish politicians," Justice Jaspal said.

13 people in total, including a BSF Commandant, as well as police and paramilitary members, have been already detained in connection with the scam. Of the 13, nine of them have been jailed while the CBI has custody of four of them.

While both the former J&K Chief Ministers have decided to not contest the upcoming assembly elections, their party's National Conference and PDP will be contesting the assembly polls.

The BJP said that the country had to pay a heavy price for special provisions being granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.The opposition party, however, lashed out at the ruling BJP over the targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir and sought the Centre's apology for it.
