The Deputy Commissioner of Jammu issued the order regarding the revisions in the voter list. The DC further urged that the decision was taken to ensure that no eligible voter is left for registration in the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls.

57-year-old Lohia, a 1992 batch IPS officer, was found dead with burn injuries on his body and his throat slit on the outskirts of Jammu.Director General of Police Dilbag Singh described it as an 'extremely unfortunate' incident and said a manhunt had been launched to nab his domestic help, who is absconding.

Jammu and Kashmir Police had gotten intelligence input on the presence of terrorists in Yedipora village in the Pattan area of District Baramulla. A joint cordon-and-search operation was launched by police, Army and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the area.

According to the SSP, Rayees Bhat, "The terrorists arrived here intending to target the Army's Agniveer (recruitment) rally and to disrupt the youth attempting to join the mainstream and making this rally unsuccessful. But we foiled their plans."
