On Monday, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Twitter that Digvijaya Singh's views do not reflect the position of the party, which supports all military actions that are in the national interest.

A 65-member strong Ladakh delegation led by Ladakh Territorial Congress President Nawang Rigzin Jora joined the Wayanad MP at the start of the yatra and briefed him about the issues and concerns of their people, one of the delegation members said.

The march started from Kanyakumari on September 7 and entered Jammu and Kashmir from Punjab on Thursday. The yatra is scheduled to end in Srinagar on January 30 with hoisting of national flag at Congress headquarters by Rahul Gandhi.

On Thursday, the march entered Jammu and Kashmir through Lakhanpur and halted there for the night following the flag handover ceremony which was attended by a galaxy of prominent leaders, including National Conference president Farooq Abdullah.

They said avalanche with a low danger level is likely to occur above 2,000 metres over Anantnag, Kulgam, and Rajouri districts in the next 24 hours. People have been advised to take precautions and avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas.

The National Conference leader said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government understands that an elected government will try to heal the people's wounds, whereas they merely allegedly rub salt and chilli into them.

According to the MHA, The Resistance Front was involved in carrying out propaganda on terror activities, infiltration of terrorists and smuggling of narcotics and weapons from Pakistan into Jammu and Kashmir.

On Sunday, as many as four civilians were killed and six others injured when suspected terrorists opened fire on three houses of a particular community in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's border district of Rajouri.

Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party vowed to wipe out terrorism in the Union territory, the Congress lamented the failure of the local administration on the security front.

Confirming the incident, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh said two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. Further details are awaited in this regard.
