The Shiv Sena leader's comment was a reference to China's border aggression in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang earlier this month, which triggered a row in Parliament with the opposition, including Thackeray's Sena, taking on the ruling BJP.

The opposition Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) attacked the Shinde-led Maharashtra government, asking if the security of the ruling MLAs, and MPs were more important than women's safety.

In Kolhapur, Maharashtra Police Act 37 has been imposed in view of the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute. After the order of the District Magistrate, a ban has been imposed on the gathering of more than 5 people in one place.

The petition, filed by city resident and behaviour and soft skill consultant Gauri Bhide, asked the CBI and ED to conduct a 'thorough and impartial' probe against Thackeray and his family.

The Commission had earlier this month requested that Shiv Sena factions submit new documents to support their claim to the party's name and symbol by November 23. The poll panel has also directed both groups to submit any additional statements or documents by December 9 at 5 pm.

While addressing a rally in Chikhli, Buldhana district, Uddhav Thackeray said, "I'm afraid Karnataka will go to the polls next year, and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has staked claim to Akkalkot and Solapur (in Maharashtra). These two locations could be handed over to Karnataka next year."
