The city traffic police have announced restrictions on vehicle movement in Central Mumbai and Bandra on October 5 to avoid traffic congestion during rallies in and around these areas.

Anticipating likely clashes in case the supporters of the two sides come face to face with each other, the Mumbai Police teams visited BKC and Shivaji Park on Monday. Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil said that security measures are in place to maintain law and order.

Dadar MLA Sada Sarvankar, from the Shinde faction, had argued that the petitioners (Thackeray-led Shiv Sena) were attempting to lay claim to the party under the guise of the current petition. Sada Sarvankar also applied to the Mumbai civic body on August 30 for permission to hold the Shiv Sena's annual Dussehra rally in central Mumbai's Shivaji Park.

A photo of Shrikant Shinde sitting on a Chief Minister's chair has gone viral on social media. He is seen sitting with officials and holding documents that appear to be the subject of conversation. The opposition led by Shiv Sena and NCP targeted Shinde's son over the controversial image.

According to the Sena's spokesperson, the current regime relocated the Vedanta-Foxconn project to Gujarat, resulting in significant job losses for Maharashtra's youth. Vedanta-Foxconn was supposed to invest Rs 1.54 lakh crore and employ 1 lakh people.

Maharashtra deputy chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, slammed Uddhav Thackeray, saying, "Thackeray cannot defeat me." "Congress, the NCP, and you (Thackeray) gave it your best effort. You can't and won't be able to continue later," said Fadnavi.

According to reports, the BMC denied permission to both factions based on a local police report stating that the rally would disrupt law and order. The Thackeray faction petitioned the Bombay High Court on Wednesday for permission to hold its annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park after the BMC refused to rule on its application.

The Bombay High Court will hear the case on September 27. The Shiv Sena made the remarks after a delegation led by Mumbai ex-mayor Milind Vaidya met with BMC officials to inquire about the status of their application to hold the rally.

The decision to lift the freeze came after the Eknath Shinde led- Maha government faced criticism after Maharashtra lost a Rs 1.54 crore semiconductor manufacturing project to Gujarat earlier this month.

The chairman of Juma Masjid acknowledged that the grave had been decorated; however, he explained that no specific authorization had been granted for Yakub's grave. Notably, the Burial Waqf Board has authority over the Bada Kabrastan site in Mumbai, where Yakub's body is buried.
