The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said his grandfather Prabodhankar Thackeray, and Prakash Ambedkar's grandfather, legendary social icon and jurist BR Ambedkar were contemporaries who admired each other and worked together to eradicate social evils and bad practises.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and other Thackeray family members, including Maharashtra Navanirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray and nephew Nihar Thackeray, have been invited to the programme. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis will unveil the portrait.

Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar claimed Sanjay Raut was 'hiding in an alley in Prabhadevi' (where Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece 'Saamana' is situated) while 'karsevaks' were sacrificing their lives in the Ramjanmabhoomi movement (for a Ram Temple in Ayodhya).

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena claimed that most of the development projects which the PM will inaugurate today were done by Shiv Sena in the Municipal Corporation.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Mumbai to lay the groundwork for several projects on Thursday and inaugurate two Metro lines that will improve the city's transportation infrastructure.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said that he trusts the EC, although 'independence and autonomy' are not seen in autonomous institutions. Following their split in June, the factions led by Maharashtra former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his successor Eknath Shinde are locked in a legal battle, each claiming to be the 'real' Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, "The year 2022 has given Rahul Gandhi's leadership a new shine and aura. If things remain the same in 2023, we may see a political shift in 2024 (general elections)." Raut also warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah not to sow 'seeds of haters and divisiveness.'

Uddhav Thackeray said, "Yesterday, they attempted to seize our BMC office in Mumbai. Today, they went to the RSS office. Since RSS is strong, they were unable to take over their office. However, RSS must remain alert henceforth... He (Shinde) has an evil eye."

On Wednesday evening, rival Shiv Sena factions led by Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde faced off at the party's office at the BMC headquarters in south Mumbai. Tension had prevailed for an hour on the premises till police intervened.

Border row:Uddhav Thackeray raised the issue of Marathi-speaking people in the Karnataka border areas, on Monday. Thackeray demanded, "Until the issue is pending in the Supreme Court, the Karnataka-occupied Maharashtra should be declared a Union Territory by the central government."
