Musk had spelled out an ultimatum to the tweeps that they will have to decide whether they want to stay on for "working long hours at high intensity" or else they can take a severance package of three months' pay.

A media report has surfaced stating that approximately 20 engineers were fired for an open letter criticising CEO Elon Musk. In latest development, the former employees have now filed charges with labor regulators.

In his message, Musk said, "In the future, we will need to be incredibly hardcore if we want to construct a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive market. This will include working long hours at great intensity. Only extraordinary achievement will be considered a passing grade."
