Gandhi said on Saturday that the party has offered an offer to the BSP for an alliance ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, even giving her the position of Chief Minister in the event of an united victory. "However, we never received any responses," Gandhi stated at the time.

The Congress and Mayawati's BSP suffered major losses in Uttar Pradesh, with the BSP winning only one of the 403 assembly seats while the Congress gained two.

As per the G23 leader, they will continue to press for inclusive and collective leadership at all levels of Congress.

The Congress seems to be imploding post the five-state assembly election disaster with voices with the party either undermining the top leadership or seeking their exit. And then there are others who are defending the 'Gandhi Parivar' despite the debacle.

G-23 leaders said that the only way forward for the party is to take up a model of inclusive leadership and decision-making at all levels.
