Earlier, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the government for the lowered provident fund interest rate, claiming it was the lowest in 40 years.

The Congress Working Committee met on Sunday to discuss the party's poor performance in the recently-concluded five-state assembly elections.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office. While Congress G-23 leaders, who are members of the Congress Working Committee, are expected to press for party changes during the CWC meeting, sources said on Friday.

The Congress is the biggest loss-sufferer with a collective lead on less than 60 seats across the five states.

Gandhi stated, while showing a video of the two kids, "Images of Indian students in bunkers are upsetting. Many are trapped in eastern Ukraine, which is under attack. My thoughts are with their distressed relatives. I once again request that the GOI carry out an immediate evacuation."

Addressing a public meeting, Gandhi said, "When the BJP and RSS visit Manipur, they do not come with respect or understanding. They are accompanied by a feeling of superiority. When I come here, I don't come with arrogance but with humility."

Amidst reports of rift in Karnataka Congress between DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah's camps, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has summoned 15 leaders to New Delhi on February 25. It is said that leaders loyal to Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are not united and this may upset the party's calculation in Assembly elections 2023.
