Lok Sabha Elections 2024:The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 3,311.87 points or 4.33 per cent to 73,156.91. The NSE Nifty tumbled 1,102.55 points or 4.73 per cent to 22,161.35.

The BSE Sensex surged by 2,777.58 points or 3.75% to reach an all-time high of 76,738.89, while the NSE Nifty rallied 808 points or 3.58% to hit a fresh peak of 23,338.70.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 164 points to hit its all-time high of 75,582 and NSE Nifty went up by 36 points to breach the 23,000 mark for the first time ever.

In a single session, the total market capitalization (mcap) of BSE-listed companies plummeted to approximately Rs 379 lakh crore from the previous session's nearly Rs 386.4 lakh crore, resulting in investors collectively losing about Rs 7.4 lakh crore in wealth.
