Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has remarked that the Shehbaz Sharif government and the Congress-National Conference alliance share a common stance on the issue of restoring Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal for “one nation, one election,” a significant move aimed at synchronizing the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.

Under the Indus Waters Treaty, which was signed in 1960, India is allocated all the water from the eastern rivers—Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi—totaling approximately 33 million acre-feet (MAF) annually, for unrestricted use.

Over 23 lakh voters will choose from 219 candidates to fill 90 assembly seats.

A total of 219 candidates are contesting in this phase, representing a wide range of political parties. The Congress-NC alliance has centered its campaign on the promise of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, a key issue that also aligns with the manifesto of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

In a significant operation that unfolded over the weekend, security forces neutralized three terrorists in the Baramulla district, with one incident purportedly captured on camera.
