Phantom, a Belgian Malinois in the K9 unit, was killed in action during an anti-terror operation in the Sunderbani Sector of Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir. Born on May 25, 2020, Phantom had been serving since August 12, 2022.

The Indian Army have reportedly neutralized all three terrorists involved in an attack on an Army ambulance in Akhnoor on Monday morning.

On Thursday evening, the attack targetted an Army vehicle, just a few kilometers from Gulmarg's main tourist area. Following the assault, security forces launched an extensive search operation along the Line of Control (LoC) near the site, sealing all surrounding routes to track down those responsible.

Two Territorial Army jawans were abducted by militants in Anantnag's forested area, but one managed to escape. Security forces have launched an intensive search operation to find the second soldier. In a separate incident, two terrorists were killed during an infiltration attempt in Kupwara district.
