The Indian Navy's VLF radar station project in Vikarabad, Telangana, aims for completion by 2027. It will be the country's second VLF facility, with the Navy committing to ecological preservation and community development. The project includes a new road to a nearby temple and a township with essential amenities.

On India’s 78th Independence Day, Indian Army troops practiced Yoga with their Sri Lankan counterparts during the "Mitra Shakti" 2024 joint military exercise at the Army Training School in Madurouya, Sri Lanka. They also participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, displaying the Indian flag at their camp.
 

Talking to Asianet Newsable at Sulur Air Force Station in Tamil Nadu, Vinod, General Manager (New Projects) at Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) said: "We are supplying to the Indian armed (air) force."

Sharing the unique features of the ASMI, Dighe said: “In automatic mode, it can fire 600 rounds per minute.  It can fire ammunition of 9*19mm and of NATO version.”

The Indian Air Force Chief, ACM VR Chaudhari, praised the indigenous Tejas fighter jet's performance in the Tarang Shakti 2024 exercise, highlighting its role in India's self-reliance. The multinational exercise, with 30 participating air forces, will continue in Jodhpur from August 29 to September 14.

He said after the second phase of the exercise which is scheduled to take place at Jodhpur in Rajasthan from August 29, the IAF will collate inputs from the debriefings of the exercise and then it will be decided how many countries will be invited for the air exercise. 

Another source added that the submarine work be built with  would a 90 per cent indigenous content and the remaining components will be procured, keeping the viability in buying them from outside.
