During his speech at Red Fort, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "It's not Narendra Modi's government. It's Ambani and Adani government. Hindu-Muslim is being done to divert attention from the real issues. Youths with degrees are seeling pakoras."

Bharat Jodo Yatra: Many joined the foot march led by Rahul Gandhi as it arrived in Delhi this morning. Senior Congress leaders walked alongside Rahul Gandhi in the national capital, including Sonia Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Randeep Surjewala, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Kumari Selja.

MPs of around 12 other opposition parties including CPI, CPI-M, RJD, JDU, Shiv Sena, DMK and NCP also joined the protest and raised slogans against the government.

Dimple Yadav, who came to take oath as a Member of Parliament, was accompanied by her husband and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Dimple Yadav defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Shakya by 2,88,461 votes.

In August, Sharma had resigned from the chairmanship of the party's steering committee for the state. Sharma, in a letter to then Congress president Sonia Gandhi, had reportedly said he was not consulted on the planning for the assembly elections and cited several examples where he was not even invited for discussions.

In his speech, Amit Shah said that in a democracy like India, the days of "raja-rani" are long gone, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instead focused on performance politics.

According to Sonia Gandhi, "This was a huge responsibility. Mallikarjun Kharge is now in charge. The country's greatest challenge today is a crisis of democratic values. Congress faces numerous challenges. The issue is how we approach it. We must move forward with full strength and unity to succeed."

Having served in three different capacities as leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, and later as leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha, Kharge is taking on his new role at a time when the party is at a historic low, electorally.

The BJP welcomed the cancellation of the FCRA licences of two NGOs headed by former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and said the Gandhi family and organisations linked to them can't be above law. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also hit out at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation for receiving donations from controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik

According to officials, the investigation uncovered alleged misuse of funds and money laundering while receiving funds from foreign countries, including China, and manipulation of documents while filing income-tax returns.
