Shakti Scheme: The Karnataka government is on Sunday rolling out the 'Shakti' scheme under which women can avail free travel in state-run buses with certain conditions

The incident took place near Kuruburu village on Kollegala-T Narasipura main road. According to the police, the car was completely crushed due to the impact of the accident in what seems to be a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The injured have been rushed to hospital and are receiving treatment.

A week after Congress’ landslide victory in Karnataka assembly polls, Siddaramaiah took oath as Karnataka Chief Minister, and DK Shivakumar took oath as Deputy CM on Saturday.

Siddaramaiah took oath as the new Karnataka chief minister today with state Congress Chief DK Shivakumar as his deputy. The oath-taking ceremony held at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru.

The ceremony will be administered by Karnataka governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at 12.30 PM at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be present at the ceremony.

During campaigning for the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, Congress leaders repeatedly assured the voters that these five guarantees would be approved in the maiden cabinet meeting on the first day of coming to power.
