Priyanka Gandhi stated that her party has drafted a distinct manifesto for women for the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

She also launched a harsh assault on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that he did not pay tribute to the farmers who died during the agricultural laws protest.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has announced that party tickets will only be given to Congress workers on all assembly seats.

The Congress leader, who had earlier announced to give 40 per cent tickets to women in the elections, promised free e-Scooty and mobile phones for school girls, farm loan waiver, financial relief to poor families and relief on electricity bills.

“I urge women to come into politics and stand with me shoulder to shoulder. Together, we will change the politics of this country and this state,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were given permission to visit Lakhimpur Kheri by the Uttar Pradesh government.

In a statement, she said she has not been produced in front of a magistrate or any other judicial officer and neither has she been allowed to meet her legal counsel, who has been standing at the gate of the compound since morning.

According to Hargaon Police station SHO Brijesh Tripathi, a case has been filed against 11 including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Devindra Hooda and Ajay Kumar Lallu under Section 107/16 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), ANI reported.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been tasked with organising the "Haath Se Haath Jodo" campaign across the nation, with a focus on women in particular. Sources informed that Priyanka would lead a wave of marches with women cadres in March, focussing on rising inflation and its impact on the public, especially the middle class.

According to the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development's RTI response, there is an overdue rent of Rs 12,69,902 against the Congress party headquarters on Akbar Road, and the last time the rent was paid was in December 2012.
