Pakistan Election Commission ruled against former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case and banned him from holding political office for five years on Friday. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief is accused of misleading officials about gifts he received from foreign leaders while in power.

The Pakistani government claimed on Thursday that it was taking the appropriate precautions, including modifying some standard operating procedures (SOPs) to safeguard the Prime Minister's House, and that no personnel or officials were permitted to bring their mobile phones inside

According to reports, Imran Khan was on his way to Gujranwala by a special plane to address a rally on Saturday. The pilot of the plane then contacted the control tower and managed to land the plane safely.

Khan had made threats to bring lawsuits against senior police officers, a female magistrate, the Pakistani Election Commission, and political rivals over the treatment of his aide Shahbaz Gill, who was detained last week on sedition-related charges.

According to Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, the propaganda arm of Pakistan's armed forces, all six officers and troops, including Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali, passed away. According to preliminary inquiries, he claimed that inclement weather was to blame for the tragedy.

Tensions rose across the country as police clashed with PTI workers after authorities attempted to stop them from moving toward D-Chowk in the federal capital.

When Khan was in power, he used a helicopter to go to his office virtually every day, and the money was spent on the chopper's fuel. Khan was chastised when he began using a helicopter for his daily journey immediately after taking power.

Khan also questioned why the courts were opened at midnight before the Pakistan National Assembly voted the no-confidence resolution against him last week, alleging foul play in his departure from the role of prime minister.
