A legal battle ensues between Delhi-based restaurant chains Daryaganj and Moti Mahal over claims regarding the invention of Butter Chicken. Moti Mahal asserts that their predecessor, Kundan Lal Gujral, created the iconic dish, while Daryaganj attributes its invention to Kundan Lal Jaggi.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protestors were detained outside Patel Chowk metro station while demonstrating against the arrest of AAP convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case.

Kejriwal's arrest on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to the defunct excise policy case has stirred a legal battle. On Saturday, CM Kejriwal approached the Delhi High Court regarding his arrest and remand order issued by the trial court on March 22.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday took legal action by moving to the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him interim protection from coercive action in a money laundering case linked to the city's excise policy.

Arvind Kejriwal had filed an application in the Delhi High Court, seeking interim protection from arrest amidst the backdrop of nine ED summonses he received in connection to the money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.

The court had said that immediate arrest, especially on the "first or second day," deviates from normal practice, as investigating agencies typically provide grounds before taking such actions. However, citing the arrests of AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia in similar matters, a senior lawyer noted a shift towards a "new style" of operation.

The Enforcement Directorate is seeking to record Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's statement regarding various aspects of the excise policy, including its formulation process, pre-finalization meetings, and allegations of bribery.

The matter is set to be heard by a division bench of the Delhi High Court tomorrow, March 20th, 2024. Arvind Kejriwal's plea seeks judicial intervention to address the legality and legitimacy of the summons issued by the ED.

In response, the counsel representing the jail authorities cited security concerns as the reason for keeping Poonawala separate from other inmates. This decision had been reinforced by a trial court following an attack on Poonawala during a previous transfer.
