Writing on ‘The Indian Armed Forces in 2047: A Credible Instrument’, he states in his new book – India in 2050: Visions for a Super Power – that “the country’s armed forces and other elements of national power will be shaped to facilitate national vision and safeguard its security interests”. 

During the weekly press brifing, the ministry of external affairs Spokeperson, Randhir Jaiswal said: “EAM Jaishankar will lead a delegation to Pakistan for the SCO summit which will be held in Islamabad on October 15-16.”

Talking about the Tejas Mk2 and AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft), the IAF chief said: “We all need to learn our lessons what happened in Mk1, what all has caused the delays and make sure that those things are ironed out.”

India will receive the final two squadrons of the S-400 air defense missile systems by 2025, delayed due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as confirmed by IAF Chief ACM AP Singh. The original deal, worth over Rs 35,000 crore for five squadrons, was signed with Moscow in 2019, with delivery initially expected by the end of 2023-24.

The defence ministry will host the 15th edition of Aero India from February 10, 2025, at the IAF Yelahanka airbase in Karnataka. The five-day event will showcase performances by the Indian Air Force's fighter jets, including Rafale and LCA Tejas, Su-30MKI.

Terming USCIRF as a "biased organisation", in reply to a media query, foreign ministry's spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: "Our views on the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) are well known. It is a biased organization with a political agenda."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gave a send-off to the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) 7,000 km-long Vayu Veer Vijeta car rally from India Gate, New Delhi, to Thoise in Ladakh. An Indian Army expedition has recovered the remains of four soldiers from the 1968 AN-12 aircraft crash in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul valley. This recovery, part of a long search operation, brings hope to victims' families, with identities confirmed for three of the soldiers.
