India and China have started disengaging their troops from the Depsang plains and Demchok, the final friction points in Ladakh. Both sides are dismantling tents and structures, with patrolling expected to resume. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed consensus on restoring the “ground situation” for mutual security.

Indian Air Force ACM AP Singh will drive the IAF-Uttarakhand War Memorial car rally from Hashimara to Guwahati. Flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the rally covers 7,000 km, celebrating IAF's 92nd anniversary and honouring Kargil's heroes while inspiring youth.

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi emphasized efforts to restore trust following an agreement with China on patrolling rights along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, with discussions planned on implementing the arrangement.

His statement came hours after the foreign secretary, Vikram Misri announced that New Delhi and Beijing have arrived on a patrolling arrangement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the border areas. 

Gauhati University, along with its students' union, will warmly welcome the Indian Air Force’s Uttarakhand War Memorial car rally on October 24, according to Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta. The rally participants will stay in Guwahati for a day before continuing their journey to Tawang, a district bordering China.
 

The Quad nations — Australia, India, Japan, and the United States — concluded their Malabar 2024 naval exercise on Friday in Visakhapatnam. According to Indian Navy PRO Captain Vivek Madhwal, this edition involved warships with integral helicopters, long-range maritime patrol aircraft, and a submarine.

The Indian Air Force — Uttarakhand War Memorial car rally, honouring Lord Shri Rama, began on October 8 and will cover 7,000 km. After passing through Ayodhya and several cities, it will reach Guwahati on October 24 and Tawang by Diwali, with over 50 participants.

Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh praised the IAF-UWM car rally for inspiring youth to join the armed forces. The rally, which started from Siachen, reached Dehradun on October 14. Participants interacted with military officials and visited Doon University before continuing towards Agra and beyond.

The deal is being executed under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement between the United States and India. Of 31, a total of 16 has been earmarked for the Indian Navy, eight each for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. 

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi's four-day visit to Japan focuses on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. Meetings with top Japanese military leaders and visits to key defense establishments are on the agenda.
