The new uniform was unveiled on Army Day on January 15 and strict instructions had been issued prohibiting serving Indian Army personnel from procuring the new uniform from unauthorised vendors. 

The device has been tested along the Northern borders. As per the company, work is underway to develop the technology that will enable Mandarin translation to Hindi. Experts are of the view that the technology would help in avoiding misunderstandings that are witnessed near border outposts.

The tradition of handing over medals, conferred every 25 years, began in 1947. The last time such a medal was awarded was on August 15, 1997, when India celebrated 50 years of independence. The design of the medal and ribbon is yet to be revealed.

The indigenous aircraft carrier has over 2,300 compartments designed for a crew of around 1700, including specialised cabins to accommodate women officers. It has a top speed of about 28 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots with an endurance of about 7,500 nautical miles.

Around 25,000 personnel, 170 aircraft, 38 ships and four submarines from 26 nations are participating in RIMPAC 2022 from June 29 to August 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. This is the 28th edition of RIMPAC, the world's largest international maritime exercise.

In one of the major peacetime rescue operations, the Indian Army has deployed men and machinery including latest equipment to rescue the Amarnath pilgrims who were injured in the flash flood triggered by heavy rain.

The RFP, which was floated on July 5, notes that the image intensifiers should have overall indigenous content of 50 per cent for assault rifles while the source of image intensifiers tube should have minimum of 30 per cent of Make in India content.

Subramanian had a "distinguished military career in the Indian Army spanning over 36 years," most recently as the General Officer Commanding, Military Region (Operational and Logistic Readiness Zone) in central India, where he contributed to the Army's operational and logistic readiness.

Dassault Rafale-M and Boeing F-18 have completed their operational demo. The report is yet to come in on the op-demo. Once that comes in, the Navy will do a staff evaluation. Preferably it will be an Inter-Governmental Agreement case. That is the recommendation from the Navy.
