The messaging platform is introducing an alert system to inform users about the ability to forward media with a caption. According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, the new alert feature shows up when an image, video, GIF, or document with a caption is forwarded.

It is worth noting that the social media site suspended more than 20 lakh accounts in India in October after receiving 500 complaints reports. In India, WhatsApp has around 40 crore users.

According to the report, the feature has been in active development for a few months, and it is now live for a subset of individuals in the beta programme.
