The announcement comes just days after Partha Chatterjee and his aide Arpita Mukherjee were arrested in the school jobs case and later suspended from their positions as state ministers.

Arrested Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee has claimed that the money recovered during ED raids does not belong to him, and time will tell who are "conspiring" against him.

The MLAs reportedly claimed authorities they had travelled to Kolkata's Barabazar with the money to give it to tribal people. The MLAs' attorneys said that they were unable to see their clients. Police, income tax, and CID officers interrogated the group in addition to the police.

The West Bengal government on Thursday removed Partha Chatterjee, who was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a school jobs scam, from the ministry with immediate effect.

The call for Chatterjee's dismissal came as the opposition parties, the BJP and CPI(M), criticised the TMC for failing to move against him despite significant sums of money being found in properties connected to him.

The new seizure comes only days after Rs 22 crore was discovered in her Tollygunge residence as part of the teachers' recruitment scandal. The ED and State Bank of India (SBI) personnel were in Mukherjee's flat, where the counting began 4 p.m.

"At least 38 TMC MLAs have communicated with the BJP. 21 of them have contacted me directly. When I was in Mumbai, I read in the newspapers one lovely morning that the Shiv Sena and the BJP had established the Maharashtra government," he stated during a press conference.

The media approached the minister outside the ESI hospital in Joka, where he and his associate Arpita Mukherjee had been taken on Wednesday morning for a routine medical examination before being questioned by the ED.

The ED discovered Rs 21 crore in cash during its raid on Arpita's home on July 22. The raid's footage showed a significant mound of cash at her residence. "All the money was stored in one room that only Partha Chatterjee and his employees could enter," Arpita informed.

The tribunal stated that the state government must ensure that public vehicles below BS-IV (Bharat Stage) are phased out over the next six months.
