The Russian Football Union says it will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decisions by FIFA and UEFA to bar Russian national teams from international competitions over the country's invasion of Ukraine.

The defence ministry has issued a special advisory for Indians who are yet to exit from the war-zone in Ukraine's Kharkiv which expects them to be prepared for dangerous situations that may emerge in the days ahead.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that the evacuation process has picked up a pace.

“We will restore every house, every street, every city and we say to Russia: learn the word of reparations and contributions. You will reimburse us for everything you did against our state, against every Ukrainian in full,” Zelensky said in a video statement.

Meanwhile, leading groups representing Holocaust survivors have also condemned Putin's claim that the 'denazification' of Ukraine was one reason for the invasion.

“We sympathise with the students, we are feeling very bad. But can we direct Russia's President Putin to stop the war?” CJI Ramana said.

Ukrainian model Dasha Astafieva has sent out a message in support of her country’s troops fighting against the Russians. She shot the message from a basement where she’s presently residing in Kyiv.

On the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts were up 0.54 percent at Rs 51,570 for 10 grams at 9.26 am but silver added 0.41 percent at Rs 67,240 a kilogram.

Brent oil futures hit a high of $116.83 per barrel, the highest level since August 2013. By 0112 GMT, the contract was trading at $116.60 per barrel, up $3.67.
