Aaditya Thackeray referred to the Shinde camp as 'traitors' rather than rebels. He said, "those who betray...they never win."

The move by Uddhav Thackeray comes at a time when the rebel Eknath Shinde camp claimed in a Supreme Court petition that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government had lost its majority after the Shiv Sena legislative party withdrew its support.

While the Eknath Shinde-led rebel camp will appear before the Supreme Court with two petitions, Uddhav Thackeray's camp will be represented by eminent attorneys Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Devdutt Kamat. Former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve and Neeraj Kishan Kaul, on the other hand, will represent the Shinde camp.

Those MLAs, who have been provided security cover include Ramesh Bornare, Latabai Sonawane, Prakas Surve, Mangesh Kudalkar, Sanjay Shirsat and 10 others. Security cover will also include families of the MLAs residing in Maharashtra.

His vehement reply came in response to unconfirmed claims that the rebels led by Minister Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, who are now camped in Guwahati, had planned to call themselves the "Shiv Sena-Balasaheb Thackeray Group." As tensions rose among Shiv Sainiks in Maharashtra, the insurgents swiftly backtracked and claimed to be the "genuine Shiv Sena."

Sarma, who has repeatedly denied any involvement in the Sena power struggle that threatens to destabilise the Uddhav Thackeray government, told the reporters, "Guwahati has 200 hotels, all of which have customers. Would we ask guests to leave because of the flooding? I would not get engaged because the BJP is helping (rebel MLAs) in Maharashtra."

Uddhav Thackeray said he left Varsha bungalow, the official residence of the state chief minister, but he had not lost his will to fight the rebellion.

The war of words between the two factions of the Shiv Sena escalated on Friday with the Uddhav Thackeray camp warning the Eknath Shinde-led group of MLAs that they should realise that Shiv Sena workers are yet to come on the roads and protest against them.

Overall, the mutiny in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government has raised question marks about the stature of Uddhav Thackeray and his credibility at the helm of affairs of the Shiv Sena.

The letter stated that MLAs weren’t able to meet the CM, people from real opposition – the Congress and the NCP used to get opportunities to meet him and even funds were given to them related to work in their constituencies.
