Hundreds of members of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah were seriously wounded on Tuesday in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut when the pagers they use to communicate exploded, news agency Reuters has reported.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched multiple strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

A chilling video released by Hezbollah recently has captured significant attention in the wake of an Israeli airstrike on the group's weapons depot in southern Lebanon.

The recent, surprising assassinations highlight two major intelligence wins for Israel, showing its capability to covertly monitor and accurately target its adversaries, experts in Middle East security and counterterrorism told Business Insider (BI). However, the broader consequences of these actions are still uncertain.

In a late-night escalation, Hezbollah launched around 30 rockets from Lebanon into northern Israel, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The group claimed responsibility for the attack shortly after midnight on Saturday (Aug 03). Israel's air defense systems intercepted most rockets, but a few landed in open areas.

This advisory comes after similar warnings from other countries, including Australia, the United States, and Britain. Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong has urged Australian citizens in Lebanon to leave the West Asian nation immediately.

The Israeli military announced that its fighter jets had "eliminated" Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr in the Beirut area on Tuesday. They accused him of being responsible for a rocket strike on the annexed Golan Heights.

"Any ignorant action of the Zionist regime can lead to the broadening of the scope of instability, insecurity, and war in the region," stated Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani.
