In a dramatic escalation of regional tensions, Israeli warplanes launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon on Thursday.

A recent New York Times report has claimed that Israel used shell companies tocovertly supply pagers laced with explosives to Hezbollah.

Lebanon was rocked by another devastating wave of explosions on Wednesday, as communication devices including walkie-talkies and home solar energy systems exploded in multiple regions, killing at least nine people and injuring over 300.

After blasts involving pagers and walkie-talkies tied to Hezbollah members, several home solar energy systems have now exploded across Beirut, according to AP News, citing Lebanon’s official news agency.

Walkie-talkies used by the members of the armed group Hezbollah exploded on Wednesday in Lebanon's southern region and capital Beirut, in a similar attack that happened yesterday.

Lebanon’s Health Minister, Firas Abiad, on Wednesday confirmed that the death toll from the recent explosion targeting Hezbollah strongholds has risen to 12.

Iran has fiercely condemned a series of deadly explosions in Lebanon, which claimed the lives of nine Hezbollah fighters and injured nearly 3,000 others.

Explosions targeting Hezbollah members using Taiwan-made pagers have raised suspicions of Mossad's involvement. The incident, which resulted in multiple casualties, has sparked an investigation and threats of retaliation against Israel.

Pagers, also known as beepers, are wireless telecommunications devices designed to receive and display alphanumeric or voice messages.

A series of devastating explosions involving pager devices rocked Lebanon on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of at least eight people and leaving over 2,750 wounded, according to the country’s health minister, Firass Abiad.
