Yadav stated upon announcing the merger, "Our party's merger with the RJD is the first step toward opposition unity. To beat the BJP, the whole opposition must unify across India. As of today, uniting is our first goal; only then will we consider who will head the unified opposition."

"If Lalu Ji had shaken hands with the BJP, he would have been known as Raja Harishchandra. However, he is up against the RSS-BJP. As a result, he faces incarceration. This would not frighten us," Tejashwi Yadav said on his father's and Bihar's previous Chief Minister's conviction.

The former Bihar chief minister and 39 others were found guilty in the Rs 139.5 crore Doranda treasury embezzlement case, the fifth prosecution against him in the fodder scandal.

He has previously been convicted in four other cases relating to the infamous Rs 950 crore fodder scam. He was also fined 60 lakh for his conviction in the Dumka case in 2018. Lalu Yadav has fought all four prior convictions and would very certainly challenge this one as well.

Rohini came forward to be his donor. After her insistence, the family chose Singapore for the surgery. Rohini Acharya is married to Rao Samresh Singh, an engineer by profession and lives in Singapore. The couple has two sons and a daughter.

On Tuesday morning, the CBI reached Bharti's residence to question the RJD chief in a land-for-jobs case, a day after his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi was questioned at her Patna residence for nearly five hours.

Delhi’s court rejected the demand of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to cancel the bail of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in connection with IRCTC scam case.The judge said, "Should such statements be made while being the Deputy CM," and warned him against making "any such statement".

As a quid pro quo, it alleged, the candidates directly or through their immediate relatives and family members sold land to Lalu Prasad Yadav's family members at highly discounted rates up to one-fifth of the prevailing market rates.
