IBM India does not permit its employees to moonlight or take up a second job simultaneously, a top company executive said, echoing the voices of other tech giants.

IT companies are worried that 'moonlighting' will reduce productivity, create conflicts of interest, and lead to data breaches. The company also emphasised a section of the offer letter stating that employees are not permitted to work for other companies without the permission of Infosys.

Since January 2018, Salil Parekh has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infosys and has led the company successfully for the past four years.

The 30-share BSE Sensex down 1,416 points, or 2.61 percent, to 52,792, while the wider NSE Nifty fell 431 points, or 2.65 percent, to 15,809. In the broader market, the BSE MidCap index sank 2.6%, while the BSE SmallCap index fell 2.3%.

The CBIC said that Infosys had been directed by the government for early resolution.

"Seeing the circumstances, we have begun the shift of our business and all of our work from Russia to centres outside Russia," Infosys CEO and Managing Director Salil Parekh said in response to a query about the impact of the Russia-Ukraine crisis on the company's operations in Russia.
