Did not buy saree because of a decision

This is the legendary billionaire couple Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy. Narayana Murthy is the founder of IT company Infosys. According to a DNA report, Sudha Murthy has not bought a single new saree in three decades. Despite having crores and billions of assets, this may be surprising. However, Sudha Murthy argues that there is a spiritual belief behind it. Actually, during the Kashi Yatra, she decided to give up one such thing that she liked very much. She liked saree the most. Since then she has not bought any new saree.

Most sarees are gifted

Sudha Murthy's husband Narayana Murthy is also known for living a simple life. Forbes estimates that Narayana Murthy's total assets are $4.4 billion (about Rs 36,690 crore). Sudha Murthy especially wears such sarees which have been gifted to her by her sisters, close friends and NGOs supported by her. Despite her remarkable success, Sudha Murthy is deeply connected to her roots.

Her daughter Akshata is married to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Sudha Murthy said that while she made her husband a successful businessman, her daughter went one step further and made her husband the Prime Minister.
