Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu flagged off the Indian Air Force-Uttarakhand War Memorial car rally in Tawang, covering 7,000 km. The event, honouring IAF personnel, aimed to inspire youth to join the armed forces. Tawang's strategic location is vital for India’s security.

India has invoked contractual terms on GE over delays in delivering F-404 engines for the LCA Tejas Mk1A fighters. Despite logistical issues cited by GE, India’s HAL faces production delays, affecting the Indian Air Force's strength as squadron numbers have dropped significantly.

The Indian Air Force car rally from Siachen glacier reached Jaswant Garh in Arunachal Pradesh, paying tribute to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat. The rally aims to inspire youth to join the armed forces and will conclude in Tawang with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

The Indian Air Force — Uttarakhand War Memorial car rally, honouring Lord Shri Rama, began on October 8 and will cover 7,000 km. After passing through Ayodhya and several cities, it will reach Guwahati on October 24 and Tawang by Diwali, with over 50 participants.

Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh praised the IAF-UWM car rally for inspiring youth to join the armed forces. The rally, which started from Siachen, reached Dehradun on October 14. Participants interacted with military officials and visited Doon University before continuing towards Agra and beyond.

The deal is being executed under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement between the United States and India. Of 31, a total of 16 has been earmarked for the Indian Navy, eight each for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.

The rally, which started in Thoise, will cover 7,000 km and end in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, honoring fallen soldiers and inspiring youth to join the armed forces.

On the occasion, Srinagar Air Force Station commander Air Commodore Prabhat Malik, Uttarakhand War Memorial Chairman and ideator of the rally Tarun Vijay and several other dignitaries from the armed forces were also present.

TheNavi Mumbai International Airport successfully conducted its first trial landing on Friday, with an Indian Air Force (IAF) Airbus C295 aircraft touching down on Southern runway 26 at 12:14 PM.

Situated at over 10,000-feet, Thoise lies in the Shyok valley and also at the foot of the Siachen glacier, is critical for the quick deployment of men and machines along the Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL), the line of control (LoC) with Pakistan and the line of actual control (LAC) with China.
