Two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude, struck Myanmar on Friday, shaking Bangkok and triggering the collapse of a high-rise. The tremors led to an emergency declaration in Bangkok, along with a metro shutdown. Myanmar’s junta chief said that at least 144 people have been killed and 732 injured by a major earthquake that struck the country and also brought down a high-rise building under construction in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
