The Indian Army has launched a transformative Rs 2.1 lakh crore modernization initiative titled the "Decade of Transformation" (2023–2032), aimed at revamping its technological infrastructure across three phases. With a strong focus on AI, robotics, drones, and indigenous innovation, the Army is driving defence tech self-reliance through initiatives like iDEX, Make-I and Make-II projects, CPDS, and industry collaborations.

India has approved a ₹64,000-crore deal to acquire 26 Rafale-M fighter jets from France for INS Vikrant, marking a major naval upgrade. This move strengthens India's maritime power amid growing Chinese and Pakistani naval presence. The Rafale-M jets, optimized for carrier operations, will replace aging MiG-29Ks and boost India’s readiness in the Indian Ocean. The deal also reflects India’s deepening defense ties with France.
