Nearly 150 protesters have been detained ever since the protests againstsuspended BJP MLA Raja Singh's remarks against the Prophet began 72 hours ago.Late Wednesday night, police had to resort to baton charge in the Shah Ali Banda locality of Hyderabad, near the Charminar, to disperse protesters.

In a few places, the protest turned violent, prompting police to use baton charges to disperse the protesters, who burned tyres on the roads. The protest lasted until early Wednesday morning. Protesters carried national flags and demanded strict punishment for the controversial MLA.

Asaduddin Owaisi stated, "Fight with us politically, but not in this way. If Prime Minister Modi and the BJP do not agree with these remarks, they must react."

Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh has been arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad after hundreds hit the streets of Hyderabad demanding his arrest. Read ahead to know other controversies he was involved in.

Protests erupted in Hyderabad on Monday night after Raja Singh released a video about the Prophet. Protests were held in front of the city police commissioner's office and other locations in the city. Protesters claimed BJP MLA T Raja Singh had hurt community members and demanded his immediate arrest.

TRS leader KT Rama Rao tweeted that to promote 'Telangana pride,' the state's people are watching the 'slaves of Gujarat' and will oppose any attempt to diminish Telangana's 'self-respect.' He used the hashtag '#TelanganaPride' in his tweet.
