Earlier in August, the State Expert Appraisal Committee, which vets the proposals before they are sent to SEIAA for clearance, had set up a sub-committee to examine the implementation of the Delhi government's policy for tree transplantation and review the site plan "in order to retain trees."

The ceremonial Steel Cutting for the IAC Vikrant began in April 2005. According to the Navy, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) indigenised the warship-grade steel required for the IAC-1's construction in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) and the Indian Navy.

INS Vikrant is India's first indigenously built aircraft carrier, to the Indian Navy. This is the second aircraft carrier of the country after INS Vikramaditya which was built.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the new ensign of the Indian Navy during the commissioning of the country's first indigenously-built aircraft carrier -- INS Vikrant on September 2.

"Today, thanks to the proactive policies of the present government, the startups have come up in a big way -- none of whom had the backing of a famous father or grandfather. The opportunities are abundant for young Indians. Skilling in general and digital skills, in particular, are proving to be passports to prosperity,"MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
