Facing criticism over the clampdown on pro-Palestine voices, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday clarified the Karnataka government's stance. He asserted that the government would not obstruct any form of expression aligned with Constitutional ideals.

The seven-day truce began on November 24 and was extended twice. The truce had allowed dozens of hostages held in Gaza in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and facilitated the entry of humanitarian aid into the shattered enclave.

A truce between Israel and Hamas will continue, both sides said Thursday, moments before the deal was due to expire. "In light of the mediators' efforts to continue the process of releasing the hostages and subject to the terms of the framework, the operational pause will continue," it said.

Russia is currently taking advantage of the Israel-Hamas conflict and upping its ante of dividing the West through its online campaign. Kremlin-backed accounts and media channels have increased their information output by multiple folds.

Hamas has angered Israel as reports suggest it has lost track of many hostages in the capture. Israel has asked for the return of all the hostages and it is willing to pay a big price for it but Hamas is finding it challenging to track many captives.
