The Czech Ministry of Justice confirmed Gupta's arrest, stating it was in response to the extradition request submitted by the US. The charges against Gupta involve conspiracy to commit murder for hire, as detailed by US authorities.

The incident took place on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, raising concerns about security measures in the new Parliament building. Speculations link the breach to the recent threat by Khalistani separatists. Pro-Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had threatened to attack Parliament by December 13.

The security has ramped up vigilance following Pannun's video, especially given the sensitivity of Parliament's session. Reports suggest Pakistan's ISI's K-2 (Kashmir-Khalistan) desk may be involved in directing Pannun to advance their anti-India agenda.
