Gujarat election results 2022: The Bharatiya Janata Party has sweeped the Gujarat election 2022. Here's a list of candidates who won and lost the polls.

The BJP is widely expected to retain its power in the prime minister's home state, with all exit polls predicting a big win for the saffron party. Following the latest trends at 11:10 am, the BJP is ahead in 152 seats, Congress with 17 and AAP eight.

To compete with the BJP nationally, the AAP fielded candidates in all 182 assembly seats and ran a highly charged campaign. AAP has been recognised as a state party in Delhi and Punjab, and the Gujarat Assembly Election Results 2022 will make it a national party.

The party's Ahmedabad headquarters has already started preparing for victory celebrations with sweets, scarves, and decorations. The saffron party is going all out to win another term in the western state after 27 years in power.

In 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made history by winning the Gujarat Assembly election for the sixth time in a row, with 99 out of 118 seats. While the saffron camp claimed a majority as the winning mark in the state is 92 to form a government, it saw a significant drop in seats compared to the 2012 elections when Modi was in the fray.

Gujarat Election Mehsana Result 2022: TheMehsana district comprises of seven Assembly constituencies and among them --- Mahesana and Unjha --- are the important seats for the BJP. The saffron party has won on all seats and continue its reign in this district.

The election was held in two phases for a total of 183 seats. The main competitors in the race are Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its traditional opposition, Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).Once the counting is completed, the results will be announced in the evening.

The police also said that an FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code Sections 465, 469, 471 (all for forgery) and 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory).

Mamata Banerjee accused the opposition of violating the laws by organising a 'road show-like event' while voting in the second round of Gujarat Assembly elections, claiming 'they are special people.'
