Rahul Gandhi was earlier scheduled to visit on February 2, which was postponed to February 4 due to his parliamentary commitments and his visit to Raipur.

In the previous five years, Congress has been hurt the hardest by defections in BJP-ruled Goa, where the majority of its MPs have left the party. In 2019, as many as ten Congress legislators defected to the ruling BJP, which now has 27 legislators in the Assembly.

"BJP, Congress, and other party workers do not need to leave their organisations to join AAP. But I have a request: vote for broom (AAP symbol) in this Assembly election for the sake of your children's and Goa's future. Please forget your party this time," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal said people need to be aware that if they're not voting for AAP, they're indirectly voting for BJP as people of Goa have only two options in front of them.

The meeting will be placed virtually at 11 am, and it is anticipated to be attended by poll-bound states' chief electoral officers and the health secretaries.

Presently, Parsekar leads the BJP's manifesto committee for the upcoming Goa elections, and he is also a member of the party's core commission.

While announcing, Fadnavis said, the BJP has ushered in a new era of development in Goa over the last ten years while also ensuring stability

The news comes only a day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared that Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann would be the AAP's chief ministerial candidate in the Punjab Assembly elections.

The election will happen in seven phases in all five states from February 10 to March 7. The polls will be held for 690 Assembly seats.

The Election Commission on Saturday rolled out measures to ensure that candidates with criminal antecedents do not find a place in the upcoming five-state assembly elections.
