Ashok Chavan, who switched camp from the Congress to the BJP, mistakenly referred to Mumbai Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Ashish Shelar as “Mumbai Congress President” while he was being in inducted into the saffron party.

Maharashtra Cabinet expansion:The political corridors of the state buzzed again after Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, mainly for the coveted Finance ministry. Speculations surfaced that Ajit Pawar may get the Finance portfolio which is currently held by BJP's Devendra Fadnavis.

On Sunday, Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. A total of 9 NCP leaders took oath as Maharashtra ministers after Ajit Pawar and other party leaders joined the NDA government in Maharashtra.
