Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday in the liquor policy case. His ex-deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested last month for alleged corruption in the same case.

Earlier, the IMD had said that the rainfall all over India in the month of June will remain 'Below normal' levels adding that states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, and northern India will witness above-normal temperatures.

On Sunday, the heatwave gripped sections of Delhi, with maximum temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius in six locations. The maximum temperature at the city's base station, the Safdarjung Observatory, was 44.2 degrees Celsius, compared to 43.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

The IMD also forecast that rainfall will rise over the northeast and southern peninsulas beginning Tuesday. "Heavy rainfall is forecast in the northeast. Warnings have been issued for Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh," Jenamani added.

MCD Mayor Election: The L-G has approved February 6, as proposed by the deputy chief minister and the chief minister for holding the adjourned first meeting of the MCD, and asked for the election of mayor, deputy mayor and the six-member standing committee to be held.

Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav also made it clear that the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate will be made by the Congress Legislative Party after the elections. The elections for 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly are due in February 2025.

The DCW, which termed the incident as a "serious matter", issued a notice to Delhi Police and the school principal on the issue. The school authorities have been asked to inform why the incident was allegedly not reported to the police by them.

The Karachi Air Traffic Control was contacted by the captain and relayed the information regarding a medical emergency. A death certificate has also been issued to the passenger. The flight was coming from Delhi and was bound for Doha, Qatar.
