A Delhi businessman, Puneet Khurana, was found dead in an apparent suicide after recording a 59-minute video detailing alleged harassment by his wife and in-laws over financial disputes during their divorce proceedings.

On 30 days in 2012, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius or higher. According to the statistics, the number of such days was 35 in 2010, the most in the 1951-2022 period. Six such days were reported in the capital last year and three in 2020, the lowest since 1997 when just two such days were registered.

According to the Union government, 300 districts in India have weekly case positivity rates of more than 5%, with Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Gujarat emerging as hotspots.

On Tuesday, private offices in Delhi were told to close, and staff were instructed to work from home. Offices connected to essential services are an exception to the rule.

Weather experts predict that a new western disturbance will offer some respite to the national capital during the weekend. On Tuesday, parts of Delhi were scorched by a heatwave for the fifth day in a row.

The penalty for not wearing mask in public was reimposed in Delhi earlier this April after there was a spike in cases. A formal order was issued by the DDMA after a meeting that was held in this regard.

On Tuesday, Vikas Walkar, the father of Shraddha Walkar, demanded the latter's parents be questioned in connection with his daughter's murder. "If the involvement Poonawala's parents is found in the case, then action should be taken against them," Vikas Walkar told PTI over phone.

After leaving Mumbai, Aaftab and Shraddha had travelled to several locations, including Himachal Pradesh, and police visited these places to ascertain whether any development during those trips triggered Aftab to kill his partner.

Severe cold wave conditions continued to prevail over Delhi with the mercury dipping to 2.2 degrees Celsius in Safdarjung. Meanwhile, Delhi airport issued an advisory to passengers owing to low visibility conditions.
