Yahoo said it plans to lay off more than 20% of its total workforce as part of a major restructuring of its ad tech division. The cuts will impact nearly 50% of Yahoo’s ad tech employees by the end of this year, including nearly 1,000 employees this week, the company said.

Amazon's decision to lay off more than 18,000 employees globally came as a shock to many. The tech giant had promised five months of severance pay to the laid-off employees. The severance packages of all employees combined could cost the company around USD 640 million, which is Rs 5,200 crore.

The property was bought for USD 123 million in October 2021 and according to reports, Amazon is likely to incur a loss on selling it. The company announced its decision to fire around 18,000 employees earlier this month.
