Following the exhibition's opening, PM Modi visited pavilions put up by several telecom carriers and technology companies to get a firsthand look at what 5G can achieve. The PM was given a personal presentation by Mukesh Ambani's eldest son, Akash Ambani, who just took over as Chairman of Jio Infocomm, Reliance Industries' digital subsidiary.

“The scion of Indian industrialist royalty, Akash Ambani was always expected to rise in business. But he has been putting in hard work. If he handles Jio well, he may be given a crack at larger chunks of the family’s conglomerate,” said the profile in Time 100 Next.

Isha Ambani is set to be named chairman of Reliance retail unit a day after her twin brother, Akash, was appointed chairman of Reliance Jio.

Jio has appointed Raminder Singh Gujral and K V Chowdary as directors for a five-year term beginning June 27, 2022. The company also accepted the appointment of Pankaj Mohan Pawar as the company's Managing Director for a five-year term beginning June 27, 2022.
