Adani Group has lost more than USD 100 billion in market value since Hindenburg Research accused it of stock manipulation and accounting fraud in the January 24 report. The group has denied any wrongdoing and has threatened to sue Hindenburg.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has authorised the sale of 72 GHz spectrum for a base price of Rs 4.3 lakh crore. According to the government, the participants' spectrum rights will be valid for the next 20 years.

On January 24, US short seller Hindenburg Research had published a report on Adani Group accusing it of improper use of offshore tax havens and flagging concerns about high debt that sent the Group stocks to crash.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) previously said that 5G internet services will be available in the country in 2022. It goes without saying that 5G will not be accessible in India right now. Some places will receive 5G initially, but it may take years for 5G to reach every part of India.

Adani Group is in advanced talks to buy debt-laden Jaiprakash Associates Ltd’s cement business for $606 million. The acquisition will be made by one of Adani Group’s recently acquired cement units, with an announcement expected as early as this week.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone also fell 16.03 percent while Adani Wilmar dipped to 5 percent and Adani Power declined 5 percent. Ambuja Cements tanked 17.16 percent and ACC fell 13.04 percent.

Advocate Sharma filed a PIL seeking investigation against Hindenburg Research and repeated his request by saying that the media was creating a sensation. To this, the CJI said, "make a reasonable argument, not for injunction to the media".
