The country’s parliament will convene on Saturday to vote on Khan as Prime Minister, following the court’s order. He is expected to lose, which would make him the first Prime Minister of Pakistan to be voted out on a no-trust motion.

According to experts, if Imran Khan gets a favourable SC ruling, elections will take place within 90 days. If the SC rules against the deputy speaker, Parliament will reconvene and hold the no-confidence vote against Khan, experts said.

Pakistan’s top court has once again deferred a decision on the legality of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s actions in blocking an attempt to remove him.

Qasim Suri, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, dismissed the no-trust resolution against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration on Sunday, calling it a violation of Article 5 of the country's Constitution. Following this, President Arif Alvi dissolved the Assembly on Imran Khan's suggestion. The country will hold new elections within the next 90 days, according to authorities.

Her post came shortly after Imran Khan stunned the opposition by asking President Arif Alvi to dismiss the National Assembly. The President agreed with his suggestion and dissolved the legislature, clearing the path for new elections in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Leader of the Opposition in Pakistan's National Assembly, stated on Thursday that Imran Khan and the Speaker of the NA will face Article 6 of the Constitution, shortly after Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri dismissed a no-trust resolution against the Prime Minister.

"Absolutely not. Whatever happened today, Army has no role in it," Major General Babar Iftikhar, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), stated when asked if the military played a part in the events that led to the dissolution of the National Assembly. 

The reactions come after the no-trust motion against the Pakistan Prime Minister was dismissed by the Deputy Speaker. Later, in a short address to the nation, Imran Khan has urged Pakistanis to "be ready for elections." "The plot to destabilise this administration has failed," he continued.

Addressing the nation, Imran Khan said, "I have written to the President to dissolve the assemblies. There should be elections in a democratic way. I call upon the people to Pakistan to prepare for elections."
