Pink-coloured Sakhi polling booths, aimed at attracting voters, have been set up across Karnataka for the ongoing elections. These booths feature information on various topics like global warming and Togari Kanaj farming. District Collector Fauzia Tarannum visited one such booth in Kalaburagi. Additionally, special efforts, including the construction of pink booths in Belagavi and a youth-built booth in Shivamoga, aim to encourage voter participation.

The launch of the Boeing Starliner, which was set to take astronaut Sunita Williams to space for a third time, has been postponed due to a technical glitch. No new date has been officially announced for the launch.

Speaking to the media after casting his vote at a polling booth in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, PM Modi said, “Today is the third phase of voting. There is great importance of 'Daan' in our country and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible."

The Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka feature 227 candidates contending for 14 constituencies, with robust measures by the Election Commission to ensure fairness. Voting across 28,269 polling booths with 2.59 crore expected voters, including special arrangements for gender balance and accessibility. Prominent candidates include former CMs and Union Ministers. The process emphasizes voter ID requirements and inclusivity.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: As polling for phase 3 Lok Sabha elections begins on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged ‘active participation’ of voters to make the polls ‘more vibrant’ today, May 7.

In the third and another crucial phase for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, a total of 93 seats are going to the polls. While a total of 94 seats was to go to the polls in the phase 3, voting was not needed for Surat as the BJP candidate got elected unopposed. 

"If you are telling me that Dalits fail the exam set by upper castes, then let's do one thing, let us make the Dalits set the exam paper and tell the upper castes to take the exam," said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a controversial video.
